Dr. Darke utilizes digital radiography for dental x-rays. This technology uses a digital sensor instead of traditional film to capture the x-ray images. The image is sent directly to a computer, where it is stored along with other patient records.
The digital images are available immediately, and can be evaluated with advanced, computer-assisted tools. Dr. Darke uses the Logicon caries (cavity) detection software, which analyzes the image to identify decay.
The software enhances the image in ways that make tooth problems more visible than with with traditional x-rays. This enables Dr. Darke to treat problems at a much earlier stage.
