The widespread use of fluoride supplements and toothpaste have made tooth
surfaces harder and more resistant to decay. Cavities can still occur,
however, and diagnosing them is more challenging because they can
start through microscopic defects in the tooth enamel and spread
into the softer tooth structure beneath the surface.
|
We use a new tool called the DIAGNOdent,
which uses a small laser light to search for hidden decay. This
unique instrument provides instant feedback on the health of
the tooth. A pen-like probe glides over tooth surfaces checking
the health of the tooth. The process is completely safe and pain-free. |

The Caesy Education System is a multimedia patient education system that
we have installed in our reception area. This system displays informative
audio-visual presentations about a variety of dental health and cosmetic
dentistry topics. It helps patients understand treatments through visual
images combined with easy-to-understand narrative explanations.

Digital Preview Session
|
During your visit, Dr. Darke can take digital
photographs of your current smile. These allow him to prepare
a digitally enhanced preview of the potential results of your
particular treatment program. During your next visit, you can
view the before and after photos of your smile, have input on
the direction of your treatment, and clearly see the difference
a great smile can make for you. |
