control procedures known as "universal precautions." We
use the same infection control procedures for every patient throughout
our office.
Our safeguards include:
Wearing gloves and masks for patient treatment
Sterilizing and disinfecting dental instruments after each
use
Cleaning and disinfecting the surfaces and equipment in the
treatment room
Disposing of needles and other sharp items in special containers
Proper disposal of waste items and contaminated materials
